The custom order process

How it works

We work with you closely to ensure you get the dress of you and your skater's dreams, for your budget.

The steps of the custom order process are:

  • Consultation & measurements
  • Design brief & deposit
  • Construction & updates
  • Final payment & delivery

And then of course, it's show time!

Details on each step follow.

Initial consultation

Alexandra will contact you directly to schedule a free design consultation where we go over the details you provided in your order form and sketch out a rough idea of your dress/outfit.

For local Belgian/Dutch clients we prefer to invite you for a face-to-face meeting in our studio. For international clients, we are more than happy to work with you via video conference throughout the whole process.

Measurements

During the design consultation, you can choose to have your measurements taken directly or schedule a measurements session once you have seen the final design.

If done online, we will talk you through measuring yourself or your skater and visually verify that the measurements have been done correctly.

Design brief

Following the design consultation, Alexandra will do additional research into the theme of your program, watch films the program is based on, listen to your music, etc, before returning to you with your free detailed digitally drawn design brief.

This brief is our idea of your dress. However, we will happily make modifications to the design free of charge or even provide you with two additional designs. After the third design, we charge €50 per additional design.

Deposit

Once you have approved the design, we will send you a deposit invoice alongside our purchase order agreement, which needs to be returned to us signed.

For all custom dresses/outfits, this deposit is 50% of the estimated price of the outfit. The deposit also insures your place in the production queue.

We work on a first-come first-served basis, so make sure to start the process early enough. Additional fees may apply for rush orders if spaces are still available.

Construction

What sets us apart from other skating attire companies is that we stay in contact with you during the production of your custom dress.

We take the time to communicate with you every step of the way and you get to see your dress develop step-by-step into exactly what you had envisioned.

At key points in the construction of your dress/outfit where changes are still possible, we will send progress photos for your approval.

Photos in the early stages of the production may not resemble much of a dress, but as time progresses, you will see your dress transform from a stack of fabrics to a beautiful masterpiece.

In order to stay on schedule, we ask that you take a look at your progress photos and communicate your thoughts, feelings, desired changes, etc. in a timely manner.

Typically most dresses will receive 4-5 progress updates during the whole process from cutting, to sewing to decorating and will take about 1-2 weeks to be produced.

Final payment & Delivery

Once your dress is completely stoned and decorated, you’ll receive a final studio quality photo with your final invoice.

The invoice needs to be paid in full before it is shipped. All of our dresses are shipped fully tracked and insured.

Shipping costs depend on the location and shipping method used. We’ll communicate the options available to you before the final invoice has been sent.
