How to measure for a figure skating dress

Feeling unsure about if you've got the right measurements? Don't worry, you can ensure the perfect fit for your skater's custom figure skating outfit with our detailed measuring instructions.

Remember, one-on-one measurement consultations are included as a service with your Alexice custom figure skating dress.

Measurements should be taken using a flexible tape measure.

Bust

Encircle the body at the fullest part of the chest, passing over the nipples, remaining level across the back, and making sure that the tape measure sits comfortably against the body. This is your full bust measurement. For custom dresses where a skater wears more than B-Cup bra, we will need to take the High Bust, Full Bust and Band measurements to ensure a perfect fit.

Waist

Encircle the body at the narrowest part of the waist, remaining level across the back, and making sure that the tape measure sits comfortably against the body.

Hips

Encircle the body at the fullest part of the hips, passing over the most protruding part of the bum/butt, remaining level across the back, and making sure that the tape measure sits comfortably against the body. Please note that this measurement for most skaters does not pass over the the top of the hip-bones, but rather approximately 5-7 cm below.

Girth

Starting at the skaters dominant side (ie. landing leg) shoulder, passes over the fullest part of the chest, down between the legs and returns back to the right shoulder by passing over the fullest part of the bum/butt Note. that the tape measurement will not lay against the skaters body at the lower back. This is necessary, do not push the tape measure against the back.

Inseam

Have your athlete stand with her feet four hip width apart, looking forward and place the top of the tape measure against the inside of the crotch. Measure from here, down the leg to the floor in bare feet.
